President’s Message

Sustainability and Well-Being:
Creating Value as a University at the Global and Local Levels

Accelerating the SDGs through academia

Okayama University is the premier hub for global researchers interested in the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

We connect researchers and institutions around the world and serve
as a local-to-global pipeline for knowledge sharing and sustainable development.

Certified as one of the UN’s original Education for Sustainable Development centers,
we also fielded UNESCO’s first ever Asian chair, overseeing teaching and research related to the SDGs.

We believe in the capacity for research to make a real difference in the world,
and we see the SDGs as a powerful roadmap for scientists in the 21st century.

What can you accomplish?
