School of Education Signs Inter-Faculty Agreement with Faculty of Education, Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences

On June 14, the School of Education at Okayama University signed an inter-faculty agreement with the Faculty of Education at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences (INN University).

Located in Hamar near Oslo, Norway, the Faculty of Education at INN University  serves as a key university for educational research in Norway and plays a central role in teacher education in the country. School of Education at Okayama University has been fostering exchanges through collaborative research under the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Core-to-Core Program from 2021 to 2024 (A-type Advanced Center Formation), focusing on "Establishing Advanced Centers for Teacher Education on ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) for Achieving the SDGs."

In March 2024, a joint ESD seminar co-hosted by both faculties was held in Hamar, gathering researchers and graduate students from Europe, Asia, Africa, and Central and South America.

The agreement was signed online between TAKASE Atsushi, Dean of School of Education at Okayama University, and Morten Ørbecck, Dean of the Faculty of Education at INN University.

Moving forward, both faculties aim to advance educational research collaboration between Japan and Norway, organize joint seminars, and promote the exchange of faculty and students.
