Legal Education by Undergrad Law Students

Responding to the increasing interest in legal education at primary, middle, and high schools, our law students engage in teaching activities, with the support of Okayama Lawyers Association, Consumers Affairs Center of Okayama, and Okayama Hokyoiku Kenkyukai (Society for the Study of Legal Education in Okayama). Students actively facilitate classes at on-demand lectures at secondary schools and Junior Law School Okayama, an open seminar at the university, as well as preparing the teaching materials.

Through these programs, students in local schools:

  • Learn fundamental values and basic arguments in law by case study.
  • Understand the fundamental philosophy underlying the law and judicial system.
  • Develop a sense of responsibility for achieving a free and fair society.

Law students also learn much from teaching, which creates beneficial synergy with education at the Faculty.
Though these activities, the students received Prime Minister’s Award for 2021 Distinguished Contribution to Consumer Support.
