Some COVID-19 patients suffer not only from acute symptoms but also from post-acute sequelae SARS-CoV-2 infection (post COVID-19 conditions). The most common symptoms are general malaise, headache, sleep disorder and abnormal sense of taste and smell. Description and purpose of activities

In February 2021, we established the aftercare outpatient clinic of COVID-19, a specialized outpatient clinic for patients with such symptoms, at Okayama University Hospital. (Second in the nation as a university hospital). Taking advantage of the characteristics of the Department of General Medicine, we provide physical examinations and comprehensive medical care that takes into account mental and social aspects.

COVID-19 vaccination began in Japan in February 2021. In addition to post-vaccination symptoms, including pain, swelling, fever, dullness and headache, rare adverse reactions, including facial nerve paralysis with difficulty in opening the eyes, have also been reported.

We have established the outpatient clinic of vaccine associated adverse events to provide specialized medical care for such various adverse reactions.
