Promoting career education from diverse points of view-Field studies at Okayama University, local companies and non-profit organizations-

Objectives and activities

   We provide not only career counseling/occupational education, but also career education aiming to support students’ career development through the entire three years as education in which students can acquire the ability and attitude required to choose their own way of life themselves. We continue to review and improve the educational activities through field studies and workplace activities in the three settings of Okayama University, local companies and non-profit organizations.

   The main activities in each year in academic year 2019 are as follows:
(1st Grade)
Visiting Okayama University Faculty of Education (online)
Lecture by Associate Professor Yoshikazu Nakayama, Okayama University
(2nd Grade) Visiting organizations featuring various career fields (online)
[University] Okayama University Faculties of literature, Law, Economics, Science, Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Agriculture; Medical School; and Dentistry
[Company/nonprofit sector] 51 companies/organizations, including Chugoku Bank, Benesse Corporation and other companies in Okayama Prefecture, companies outside the prefecture, and other nonprofit organizationsand, such as AMDA
(3rd Grade) Lectures on career development by external lecturers

Expected effects

  • Students’ initiative to form their own careers and for the social transformation
  • Learning about diverse ways of living
  • Anticipating the lifestyles of the future
