4K3D visualization of surgical video, Heads-up surgery & information sharing: For Medical education and safe surgery

Social background

To reform working practices, we need to cultivate many exquisite doctors.
It is very meaningful for medical students and doctors-in-training to let them understood good surgeries three-dimensionally. Especially in neurosurgery, surgical video using microscope, endoscope, and exoscope is rapidly developing. Of course, it is very safe for patients and medical team to share the 3D-surgical video in the operative room.

Objectives of this activity

Preoperative 3D images enhance the surgical simulation. Intraoperative 4K3D surgical videos tie up medical teams at once and improve medical safety and education with subsequent maintenance and augmentation of health.

Outline of this activity

Preoperative 3D images using virtual reality system enhance the understanding of surgical teams. Intraoperatively, large-size monitors for 3D visualization and Heads-up surgery enable medical team and students to share the 3D information of the surgery at a glance, even though the operative field is narrow and deep.

Expected effects

Surgical information sharing enhances medical safety, motivation for learning of the youth with consequent nurture of brilliant doctors.

By 4K3D images of Heads-up surgery, all medical team members easily understand what’s going on in the OP room for safe surgery.
3D surgical videos can be seen in the daily conference.
