Overview of the activity

Class of “Cross-cultural Psychology” offers active learning of coeducation for Japanese and international students using Japanese and English. Students follow three steps; “Awareness” of existence and the effect of culture, “Understanding” of reactions and dynamics in cross-cultural situation and “Coping” with cultural differences. In the step C, they learn cognition and behavior to cope with cultural differences. Each steps has two levels; Culture-General and Culture-Specific. These combination makes six cells which construct the AUC-GS learning model for psycho-education.

Future plan

This education has meanings of real problem solving for international students in Japan, of pre-learning of staying in different culture for Japanese students who hope studying abroad, and of wisdom for everybody for daily cross-cultural contact. This class is recommended for various students. Developing teaching material adjusted to learner’s needs is planned.
