Background

　The Department of Archaeology has a lot of important archaeological  artifacts. We need to restore and consolidate them to display or hand them to the next generations.

Objectives

　We focus on the target “11.4 Strengthen efforts to protect and safeguard the world’s cultural and natural heritage”.

Overview

　We have had a laboratory restore and consolidate metal  objects since 2016. We display the restored metal artifacts in Archaeological Museum of Okayama University.

Expected effects

  We can hand important archaeological artifacts to the coming  generations. They are useful for archaeological students and curator-candidates.
