Website Launch: Okayama University One Young World

Okayama University has launched an Okayama University One Young World (OYW) website.

Since being announced at the 2009 World Economic Forum (also known as the Davos Forum; headquarters: Geneva, Switzerland) and held for the first time in 2010 in the capital city of London, the UK, the OYW Summit has become one of the world’s largest annual summits bringing together the next generation of young leaders (18-30 years old) representing over 190 countries. With a rapidly expanding scale and network, the OYW summit has developed as a global joint industry-academia-government collaboration project, aiming to cultivate next-generation leaders who can work together under the guidance of global leaders and discuss possible solutions to current global issues that align with the SDGs.

Okayama University was one of the world’s first national universities to announce its participation in the summit and we support our student representatives by covering associated participation costs.

The new website gives information about university and student activities related to OYW as well as updates related to the upcoming OYW 2022 Tokyo Summit, which will be the first OYW summit to be hosted in Japan.
