“2022 International Session Award” from Japanese Societyfor Engineering Education Awarded

The School of Engineering at Okayama University has been working on an international collaborative project on chemistry, "SDGs Seminar," with multinational and diverse stakeholders since academic year 2020.

At International Session of the 70th Japanese Society for Engineering Education Annual Conference, held September 7-9, the presentation titled "Developing Online Course of Science and Technology: International High School - University Collaboration SDGs Seminar between Japan and Malaysia", some part of the international projects that have been done so far, was presented. Okayama University School of Engineering, Okayama Prefectural Okayama Ichinomiya High School, and Malaysia/INTEC Education College gave a joint presentation in an international session (English), and received the 2022 International Session Award.

The international online seminar organized by the School of Engineering is now in its third year, and has received the Encouragement Award of the Okayama University SDGs Promotion Award (President Award) in 2020, and the Award of Excellence in 2021. These seminars are organized by Technical Research Officer Nakamura, who is also an SDGs ambassador for Okayama University, and have been adopted by the "Sakura Science Exchange Program," an international youth science exchange program of the Japan Science and Technology Agency, as well as the Okayama University Organization for Diversity Management's grant for supporting female faculty members (management skill improvement support type).

The same international seminar on 2022 will also be presented at domestic and international academic conferences in the future.

We will continue to promote sustainable international high school-university collaboration projects through online seminars and other means.
