Implementation of genomic medicine

Background

In recent years, genomic medicine, that uses genomic information such as individual gene polymorphisms and genetic mutations of diseases for medical treatment, has been implemented. However, few people have the skills to engage in genomic medicine, and human resource development is an urgent issue.

Objectives

In order to implement genomic medicine, training not only for physicians, who practice genomic medicine, but also for nurses, laboratory technicians and pharmacists, who support genomic medicine, will be organized. We develop materials and videos as well as hold lectures and hands-on workshops.

Expected results

It is expected that genomic medicine will be widely implemented in society by various human resource development, contributing to extending the healthy life span of people not only in Japan but also in the world.
