Development of campus environment with Universal Concepts and Plans

Objectives

Our campus has served as a friendly spot for our community as well as for students and college personnel. With an expected increase of use of elderly and the disabled, a demand of lifelong learning, and, especially, international and visiting scholars, we are pushing forward with a plan to establish a safe and easy-to-travel campus including new signboards for foreigners with Universal Concepts.

Latest achievements

We have established barrier-free toilets, elevators, slope, and parking lots for the disabled to accommodate the expected increase of such a variety of campus visitors. In addition, we are planning to install direction-boards written both in English and in Japanese. In AY2021, we constructed a barrier-free toilet, a wheelchair-accessible elevator and a parking space for wheelchair users at the Faculty of Science Building No. 2 on the Tsushima Campus. In AY2022, we plan to construct the Co-Education and Co-Creation Commons Co-learning Co-creation Commons, equipped with wheelchair-accessible barrier-free toilets and elevators.
